First held in mainland China, IAMCR Beijing 2022 is coming

The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) 2022 annual conference will take place from July 11th to 15th with hybrid events at the hub of Tsinghua University, China and virtual webinars from around the world. Facing challenges in the post-pandemic world of neo-globalization, IAMCR Beijing 2022 gathers internationally renowned experts and scholars from 100 countries to explore future agendas in ever-changing global media contexts.

IAMCR Beijing 2022 is the first global annual conference in communication held in mainland China, bringing together nearly 2,000 academics from more than 100 countries. The School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University and IAMCR co-host the 2022 event with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Communication.

Given that the global pandemic of COVID-19 has caused dramatic shifts in the way we interact and understand our physical, social, cultural, political, and material environments, IAMCR Beijing 2022 revolves around the main theme of “Communication Research in the Era of Neo-Globalization: Reorientations, Challenges and Changing Contexts”.
