Biography
Professor Cui is currently a member of the American Association of Communication and Japanese Association of Social Intelligence. He is also Vice President of the Chinese Society of Communications Studies. Professor Cui received his BA in Chinese Literature from Nanjing Normal University in 1984 and continued for postgraduate training at the Institute of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese Academy of Social Science. He later studied his MA and Ph.D. at the Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University in Japan. Before joining the faculty at Tsinghua in 2001, he was Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Nanjing Normal University. Professor Cui has widely published in the area of information studies, communications studies, and media management. Among his publications is Theories and Modes of the Information Society, Higher Education Press, 1999; Media Evolution and Social Development, Nanjing Normal University Press, 1999; Blue Book of China Media Industry, Chinese Academy of Social Science Press, 2010.
