Biography

Professor Liu Binjie was born in 1948 in Changwu, Shaanxi Province. He earned his master degree in 1981 after he graduated successively from the Institute of Foreign Studies, Beijing Normal University and the Department of Philosophy, Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

1968-1978 Working as team leader and section chief of Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Company; workshop secretary and factory & mine political department director of the third smelting plant of the Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Company; party standing committee member and deputy director of the revolutionary committee of Huitong Mines of the Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Company

1981-1985 Division chief and deputy minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China

1985-1990 Member of the standing committee and minister of the publicity department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League

1990-1994 Member of the standing committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League; deputy secretary-general of the All-China Youth Federation; general manager, party committee secretary and Administrative Committee director of the Chinese side of the International Youth Exchange Center and Sino-Japanese Youth Exchange Center; chairman of 21st Century Industrial Group; president and editor-in-chief of 21st Century Magazine (During the period from 1981 to 1994, Professor Liu also conducted research and studies in marketing and economic management in Japan, Singapore and other countries.)
